Projects vary in scope and degrees, are larger with progressively increased responsibility, complexity and impact. Treasury Merchant Sales and Service Representative

Location:Canton, CT

Education Level:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics (Preferred)

Experience:

1-3 years' experience in banking with demonstrated sales success and consistent goal progression. Minimum of 2 years cash management, sales and relationship management experience with strong working relationships with clients and colleagues (preferred).

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for selling merchant payment processing (including Visa, Amex, Discover, MasterCard, checks, gift cards etc.) and the corresponding hardware and software. Develop new merchant processing relationships with small to medium sized businesses.
  • Exercise responsibility for the customer-by-customer pricing of the Bank's merchant processing product.
  • Acquire new merchant services relationships through networking with outside referral sources and current customer base in addition to cold calling to get additional referrals, and working with internal business partners to generate referral sources for sales opportunities.
  • Responsible for the development of an effective calling program to attract new merchant relationships and maintaining a strong pipeline for new revenue growth. Assist branches and commercial services personnel in initiating, developing, and enhancing relationships with corporate prospects and customers.
  • Make sales calls on prospects and customers and write proposals as required, track customer contact calls and make follow up calls as warranted.
  • Support the Bank's strong relationship banking culture through on-going customer contact, quality customer service and superior product knowledge. Manage sales process to include proposal through implementation and beyond.
  • Effectively cross sell the bank's cash management and deposit products.
  • Provide sales leadership, direction, coaching/mentoring to encourage a consultative sales approach and to create value-added payment processing alternative for Northwest Community Bank and its divisions' customers.
  • Assist customers with the setup and implementation of all merchant processing equipment and software products. Completing any required paperwork for new customers. Provide demonstrations of technical services as needed. Assist in the research and successful resolution of customers' issues and questions.
  • Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of Elavon's product offerings and provide training and on-going technical support for these products to both internal and external customers.
  • Develop competitively priced products to compete in the markets we serve. Keep abreast of trends and changes in product lines and in the marketplace to insure NCB and its divisions maintains its competitive position.
  • Promote the ongoing interest of the Bank whenever and wherever possible. Participate in a variety of community and civic activities and represents the Bank (or insure representation) at all appropriate community functions.
  • Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Universal Banker II, the Universal Banker, is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while conducting transactions in an accurate and timely manner. The Universal Banker is also responsible for the sales and servicing of all bank products and services consistent with Bank policies and regulations. The Universal Banker is expected to identify sales opportunities, cross sell products and services including referrals to branch sales team and brokerage personnel. Meets and/or exceeds the expectations of the Assessment/Deployment Coaching process; sales, service, operations, and cross training/personal development.
